F.A.Q

  • What battery does the multichannel N1 use? It uses a standard type CR123A lithium battery (The most common battery for cameras etc.)
  • How long does the battery last? Approximately 800 to 1000 hours, assuming the battery is of a proper quality and known brand.
  • If the battery is accidentally place upside down, what happens? Nothing. There is inbuilt protection for this scenario.
  • Is there chance of damage due to a short-circuit? There is full short-circuit protection, unless the battery poles are somehow connected (for example with a wire)
  • Does the volume decrease along with the battery life? No, the pre-amps are powered by a voltage regulator.
  • How do i know when the battery needs to be changed? Strong-hit chords will start to exhibit distortion.
  • When does the power consumption stop? When the jack is unplugged.
  • Do i have to add a seperate ground? No, this is not necessary.
  • Can the N1 Pickup be equipped with an internal microphone? Yes, but only when paired with the N1 Pocket Preamp.
  • Can i get a seperate output for from each of the strings to use with a MIDI Interface? Yes, but only if ordered accordingly.
  • What about left handed players? Due to the fact that the preamps, are tuned for each string, a left handed pickup must be assembled in reverse, therefore it must be ordered.
  • What is the output impedance? There is a 2.7 kiloohms resistor in the output for safety reasons.
  • Do i need a DI box to connect to a Sound Mixer? No, the pickup can be connected directly to the line in. However, if the Audio Mixer is located away from the instrument, the sound engineer usually adds a DI to have a balanced connection.
